Ubiquitin-K29R is recombinant ubiquitin with a single substitution of arginine for lysine at position 29. Notable, ubiquitin is a small polypeptide that can be conjugated via its C-terminus to amine groups of lysine residue on target proteins. This conjunction is referred to as monoubiquitylation. Ubiquitin moieties can subsequently be conjugated to this initial ubiquitin. This utilizes any one (of seven) lysine residues on the surface of ubiquitin. The formation of these ubiquitin chains is referred to as polyubiquitylation. This mutation will ensure chains will not form at mutated lysine to arginine peptide and if mutation causes any functional differences. Need assistance with our products?
